Default Best Skins Ever - full body doesn't cover sides?

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a BSE for my new 8330 (full body), and when I got it, it has no side pieces, is that correct?
My Zagg full body covered the sides on my Instinct, just seems weird that it doesn't have it as part of the full body.

I thinkg they stop making them because most of the time they just fell off.

Yeah, it won't stick very well to the soft black rubber pieces.

Besides, I would dread having to pull them off for risk of taking some of the rubber coating along with it. Ouch! By the way, the 8330 BestSkinsEver rates a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10 for difficulty in applying, the curves of the Curve were really tough!

BSE has never covered the sides. Zagg is the only one that comes with covers for the sides.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. My wife will be putting it on, so I'll let her know about the difficulty. I didn't realize the sides were rubber.

Try my trick of tightly wrapping the BlackBerry in a plastic cling wrap while the BSE dries. You have to allow it to dry a little so it doesn't move around when you pull the cling wrap tight. I did this over 2 years ago when I first got my Pearl and its still holding well. Recently two corners have started to come up just a bit. Otherwise it looks as good as the day I installed them.

Very cool. This is a great idea. I basically used my palm slightly folded to press the corner/edge pieces against the Blackberry. I'll give it a try the next time I have to replace them, although I do have to say that the BSE might outlast my device. The ones I've applied on my old 8830 are still as tightly stuck to it as the first day. Amazing stuff.

Cheers!

Bodyguardz covers the rubber sides and surprisingly it seems to hold better there than on the hard plastic. I think all the brands use the same material - the material designed for the front edges of Blackhawk helicopter blades.

Well the smooth back and sides seem to hold great but where I see the points start coming up is on the front bottom. The part on the rubber just stays. I've taken the coating off twice and no issues with the rubber going with it.

My IS came with the side pieces but I didn't use them. Seemed odd to cover rubber with the IS.

Same here...I never put the side pieces on my Curve either. I just used the screen and battery cover pieces. I suppose I should have just bought a BSE. I did use the side pieces on my Pearl, though.
