Great news if true. The proof is in the pudding, as they say.

I'm not sure how much more proof you need, especially when it directly comes from the horses mouth from RIM! Can't wait for it to come out in September!

"September" is a pretty broad range. Maybe they aim for that.

Well I surely hope it comes true because I just recently bought two Macs and I love them. I have a PC still but it would be great to do everything on the Mac and call it a day.

Please STOP with the RIM - Apple defense crap now. You've got all you can handle in other threads, don't bring it in this one.

I don't care that "September" is such a broad range. Heck, I'd take just the YEAR they plan to release it, so long as it was a firm estimate. That's how long I've been waiting for this!

Apple won't even blink as they're not really counting on sales from BlackBerry users switching to the iPhone. The smartphone market is big enough for RIM, Apple, and a bunch of others all to have great success. I'm a life-long Mac user who never got the iPhone bug. I probably have one or more of every other Apple product out there, but the iPhone leaves me cold. My wife loves her though. Honestly, there is no "iPhone killer" out there, nor will there be. Apple has created a bar-setting device, blending form and function (like they have from the beginning) and it's driving innovation for the entire industry. Plenty of room for everyone, and the best advice RIM can take is to simply do their own thing and cater to their own customer base.

Let's just hope it wasn't designed and written by the PocketMac team!

OK who isn't psyched about this? I gotta say when I bought my MAC I was bummed about the lack of support from RIM but thankfully they have come through.

Now let's get some leaked versions of this baby and see what it can do.

rambo47, THAT was very well said! I'd like to just add, we've been promised a Mac BB solution from RIM for years now and we're all still waiting. Seems the iPhone is also pushing RIM to service the Mac OS. This Mac BB desktop better be solid or RIM stands to lose more once BB users over to the iPhone.

I don't see people jumping to the iPhone because the Mac BBDM isn't all that. they would just go back to using the old, tired PC they'd been keeping around just for the BB. at least, that is what I would do.

but I am excited that RIM is finally making the effort with a Mac DM.
waiting with baited breath.
