Default Deploying BES on a network separate from Exchange server network

Please Login to Remove!
As per MS it is possible to install exchange on a corporate network and BES on a separate external network. Apart from latency issues what are other disadvantages of this approach? Are ther ways to overcome the disadvantages?

If all servers are on LAN you will be fine.

The BES and exchange servers are not on LAN.
