What device do you really have? There is no BB 5500. What carrier do you plan to use it on?

There is no need to unlock a CDMA device, because you can only use it on the carrier that it is made for, i.e. you cannot use a Verizon device ont he Sprint network.

What is the real problem? The 9500 series is not supported by t-mobile so there are no service books. You have to resort for alternate methods. Check the sticky at the top of the 9500 section.

I am sorry but you are incorrect. If a carrier doesn't offer the specific device, then they do not support it with the correct service books. They may be able to offer some help, but most techs aren't training in the device specifics.

Allowing it on their network, isn't supporting the device.

i dont mean to sound offensive but ive been on fourms where people have gotten it to go over to t mobil and ive seen it on youtube by a trusted tech. i need help getting to the mep2 prompt. if you know about unlocking black berries you would know where im stuck and that it has nothing to do with if the services allows the phone. so if anyone else out there can help me it would be much appreciated.

Default Re: network blocked

these are the 10 steps
1. Turn off all of the wireless connections (manage connections - turn all connections off)

2. Go to the Options icon on the device

3. Select Advanced Options

4. Select SIM Card

5. Hit the Menu key to select Show Keyboard

6. Enter mepd (you will not be able to see the typed info)(enter just the mepd, no spaces, etc.)

7. Enter the letters: mep2

8. Now it will say enter network mep code

9. Enter the code given you, usually about 16 digits

10. Your Storm is now unlocked.

You can't unblock a device that has been blocked. Typically, devices are blocked because they have been reported as stolen. Or else they were on an account with an unpaid bill.

@fatape0, if you can't get the 2 entered, you're stuck. There's nothing else you can do. Sorry.
