Default Unusual Text question

I am still getting used to the Blackberry format after years as a TREO user. The past couple of days, everything I type gets odd symbols or characters or the words change from worse to source, etc. The characters are on the a and e and b keys. Did I accidently change a keyboard setting? Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks

I think you're touching the key for too long before pressing it. This will make the key change if an accented character etc. is available for that key.
