I may be wrong but I think the BB downloads map segments as needed and does not actually store them.

i thought so too but i did an experiemnt. turned of all data/wifi, went into the BB maps, google maps and Garmin Mobile.

all 3 still have the map data that i d/led last time, its weird cuz i cant find these anywhere on the device nor sdcard.

In Google Maps if you go to Help and then About. You will find a "map ram cache" with the amount of data storage in the device memory temporarily. Its a really small section of the map though

Is it worth buing? I have a Navigon 70 Premium, but I would like a GPS program in my Berry.

Bought it and have used it for a little more than a week. It is not as robust as AT&T Navigator (Telenav). Also doesn't show miles to destination on the screen or the name of the road you are on. These observations have been made before, but Garmin has not chosen to make these improvements. Turn-by-turn instructions are good with street names provided. All in all, it is a reasonable GPS choice.

Does anyone know if Garmin mobile does or does not work on AT&T? AT&T says they block blackberry maps and Garmin. But Garmin says it works on AT&T. Would like to get it, but worthless if it is blocked.

Anyone tried that on the Bold 9900 ? Garmin website says trial is unavailable for my phone but what about the full version ?

I contacted Garmin directly and its not currently compatible with the bold 9900 as of october 26
