Unhappy Water Damaged BB

Please Login to Remove!

Absolutely gutted, dropped my curve in water, after a few days drying out all I get now is white screen, but what I really wanted to know is, is it worth trying to get it fixed?

I've obviously seen lots of companies who offer water damage repair to the phone, but does anyone know how successful it is? Or should I just take it on the chin, recycle phone and get a new one?

So, so angry with myself as phone only 8 months old!!!!!

All advice greatfully received!!!

Although perhaps too late:
Got Your BlackBerry Wet? - BlackBerryFAQ

How long did you leave it dying and how?

If you have insurance on it I would just pay 50-75 bucks to get a replacement device. In my opinion it wouldn't be worth the hassle/time getting it fixed and trusting someone else with your bb/data

Unfortunately, their is too much you can do besides following the FAQ after it got wet.

many thanks both, definately water damaged as my little white squares on both phone and battery now pink.
It has been left to dry on a window sill and in some rice since sunday (so 5 days). But I fear, that prior to this (on sunday after phone fell in water) I did try turning phone on - before searching on the internet to find out this is a complete no, no due to shorting the electrics in the phone!

I don't have phone insurance as such as previousely when I had my bag stolen with a new phone inside company wouldn't pay for replacement phone as it wasn't "removed by force" i.e. at knife point or similar, so lost all faith after this.
I do have a bank account with insurance on, which I think may cover my phone so will check this out first.

Many thanks for your help!
