Government loves Nextel! They will release a new model within the next year. The current models are still selling well against other reports. Nextel service is going nowhere soon (Government atleast) and nobody wants to lose good paying customers because of cheap hardware.
No one said that the SERVICE was going away...but I wouldn't expect to see things like the 87XX-Series or the Pearl ever released on Nextel. In fact, I'd be AMAZED if you ever saw another new model of BB on Nextel. Doesn't mean they won't continue to support the current ones.
And your assertion that "they will release a new model within the next year" is a pipe dream.
I get that this is a "rumor mill", but saying something for the sake of saying it is discouraged. Unless you have SOME kind of evidence that they're releasing a new model, don't say it, please.
"Unless you have SOME kind of evidence that they're releasing a new model, don't say it, please."
Tell you what, next time i will form my responce as a question and start a new thread. Then we can let everyone talk about it for months and when someone else gives you "SOME" evidence, they can take the credit. Anyway as a nextel subscriber im not moving yet.
Or, uh...you could just provide even the faintest of sources as to why you think any of what you say is true...
Rumors are, by some token, rooted in some kind of fact. May be misguided in some cases, but at least it's not the random arbitrary musings of someone in denial.
No one has criticized you about staying with Nextel. If that works for you, great! However, if you'd read some of the evidence posted in these forums, there's nothing short of a remote-at-best chance that Nextel will release a new model.
Meanwhile, you assert that they will in the next year. Interested to know why those types of statements are discouraged? Because others, who know how to use the search button, will locate that post, and then want to see evidence of such. As you have none, the rest of the community will have to field questions as to why this is or isn't true.
I get that you're satisfied with Nextel. Congrats. That doesn't mean they're keeping up with the Joneses.
I'm closing this thread, as you obviously have no interest in having your questions answered or statements of fact debated.
