Default Screen oddity question

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new Storm and I wonder if this screen issue is normal. If I put the Storm down on some surfaces the screen is unresponsive. One example is a corrugated box. If I lay it flat or tilt it but it is on a box, I cannot scroll or get any response from pushing a selection on the screen. If I am touching the side of the Storm while it's laying on the box, it works.

If it is inserted in my car's aftermarket cellphone gripper, I have the same behaviour. Again, seems to work if I am touching it though.

Thanks,
Bob

I just bought it Wed at the Verizon store in town, it is v4.7.0.148

BTW, the desktop manager asked me today if I wanted to upgrade to a V5, it is at 4.7.0.25. Should I do it?

Bob

Maybe playing with your screen settings will correct this (sensitivity, tap interval, hover).

I experience that same problem quite a bit. I always have to pick up my phone for the screen to respond.

I discovered that by removing the plastic screen protector I had, the screen works fine. Too thick I guess.

I've never used the phone without a screen protector and never had sensitivity issues.

The only time my Storm screen had issues was when it was exposed to extreme cold. The sensitivity slowly got worse starting from the edges, emananting slowly to the center as the screen temperature got lower.

Once the phone was warmed up the sensitivity came back in reverse.
