Hi guys,

I have followed the instructions to upgrade my 8100 however when I plug in the device after deleting vender.xml and running DM nothing happens. I understand that I should be prompted to upgrade the OS. I have the latest OS and DM installed.

The grey text in the Application Loader windows sates that it does not have the device software for the connected unit. It was originally a UK Vodafone unit; I am now in Australia and have been trying to install the OS for this county. I still use Vodafone as my provider

My current OS is version 4.2.0.51 and it keeps crashing hence the desire to upgrade.

Can anyone help?

With out knowing much about your situation my guess would be that you downloaded software that wasn't for the 8100. Maybe you grabed 8110 or 8130 instead. Make sure that the software is for 8100 then go into your add remove programs remove the current software you installed and start over with the proper one. Good luck Hope it helped.

Another thing,if you are downloading the correct software are you plugging in the BB after running DM? ensure you plug in the device before opening the DM.

Make sure you locate and delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive.

Do this AFTER you download and install the latest version of the 8100 handheld OS onto your PC.
