Hey Guys, somebody told me that there has been developed a pad to substitute the ball for the bb bold. Does anyone have seen something?

Not true. There is a track pad from RIM, but it's for specific models designed to use it. It is physically a different size that the trackball assembly... and it is NOT compatible with the current Bold.

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

Bold 2 (9700) will have it. That may be the reason for the confusion.

It's not even a matter of fitting a square into a circle but if you look at the engineering of how the trackball works you will see there are 4 little rectangle boxes on the board under your trackball. You will also see 4 wheels (like logs) that when you spin your trackball it in turn spins these. Inside these log like rollers are little magnets as these magnets spin over the rectangle boxes either a small charge is produced or a relay is triggered and the device registers and it knows either a left right up or down has occurred. There is no way to transpose the track pad you are talking about onto this type of design. They as far apart as black and white.

Who are idiots? People who call it the Bold 2? Just because everyone agreed that it's called the ONYX or 9700 does not mean someone else is wrong for calling it the Bold 2. As I mentioned in the post before what did you call the storm 2 before you found out it was the 9550 (or what ever number it is) not everyone keeps unto date on this stuff their not idiots for that. It's kind of a harsh statement IMHO

@miamirulz29
And technically ONYX is an internal name for a device before it is released its official name is a Bold 9700 so don't laugh to hard and other people when your still on the wrong page too.

Sorry Caspan, this article was not referring to it as "the Bold 2", nor "its like the Bold".
They called it the Blackberry Bold 9700. They weren't even mentioning that there was a Bold 9000.

Also, its not a blog article, its a news article for a show in the UK called "the gadget show".
Which you would assume would be able to find out the name, as they had the officially released picture of the Onyx.

They are idiots because they didnt research correctly.

I have no problem with people calling it the Bold 2, or like the Storm 2.
Its easy to remember.
People (of the general populas, on the this forum and every other BB/mobile phone/smartphone forum, blog or otherwise) aren't idiots.
