Default BB does not receive e-mails

Please Login to Remove!

I have BB Bold that was setup to retrieve two e-mail accounts. This was working just fine until a few days ago. Since then no e-mails are being sent to BB. I have went thru all the settings and everything looks OK on BB. Weird thing is that I have not changed any settings since Tuesday when e-mails stopped working.

I have Verizon network.

Please help.

Have you tried the old standby hard reboot? Pull the battery while the phone is on; wait30 seconds; insert battery and allow phone to reboot. Very likely that will work. It usually does. (My friends think I'm a genius when this fixes their BB -- but they never seem to remember it the next time the phone has problems so I get to be a genius again.)

Well, you are a genius. I have pulled the battery out, put it back in and got all the missing e-mails. They came with same date/time but that's minor flaw. Thanks a lot.

That is showing the time the device received them. If you open the email up and scroll up, you should see the time the email was actually received.

LOL -- actually, someone else here probably would have given the exact same advice if I hadn't. Now you know the secret to fixing a large number of BB issues. Your turn to be genius next.

As JSConyers said, BB shows the date/time received on the device in the list but the actual date/time will be in the individual email.

How often should we reboot blackberries? I administer a BES with about 20 clients and we have a few execs that complain that they must reboot their device (Curve 8530 on Verizon) in order to get email.

The reboot fixes this issue w/o a problem however I was asked to look into this being a BES issue. Since the reboot of the phone seems to fix it i'd lean towards the device.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks!

You will get different opinions from different people. I had a string on this a year or so ago. Personally, I only reboot if I have a problem which is not often. Others recommend rebooting regularly, I think weekly or so.
