Does .592 or this one still disable the lock phone function by pressing *?

I am using .464 and having awful issues with memory leak, it .592 widely regarded as the best for the purpose of eliminating memory leaks (like that will ever happen)?

I'm not sure if .592 is regarded the best but I remembered it working very well on my Bold at the time so I went back to it.

I upgraded to 5.0 last week and have not noticed any bugs with the OS to this point.

I am not experiencing the memory leak issue that some of you have mentioned. I am going on day 3 without a reboot and still have about 28MB of free memory.

I have however noticed a significant increase in battery drain - particularly when doing a battery pull. I lose about 20% of my battery on every reboot. My battery is old and definitely needs to be replaced but with 4.6 I could get 2-3 days out of it. With 5.0, I am lucky to get 1.5 days out of it.

With all that said, I do enjoy the new OS and will not be reverting back to 4.6.

I upgraded my phone to this version and (knock on wood) my voice jitter/stutter issues are gone! Finally I have a fully working phone on OS5!

I have the same question...how do I hide the sent items? I remember there being an option in the older version.

Edit: I see the option to hide sent messages, but it doesnt seem to work.

I get a phantom message on every reboot. Have to "delete prior" to get the notification off. Other than that it seem to lose memory a bit slower, battery life I dunno yet. Uses up more mem than 4.6. It is definitely processing faster. I may revert over the memory thing. Starting with 12 mb is just not melting my butter. I had 25 with 4.6. No apps, just some big ass databases in that cheesy Handbase program.

Thumbs down New problem with .822 - Ringers/Alerts

Phone voice quality (jitter) issues are fixed with the this release but I have a new issue that cropping up regularly: no sounds or vibration on incoming calls or alerts.
After a while the phone will no longer give any alerts (sound or vibrate) to events such as an incoming phone call or a calendar event. Doing a battery pull will fix it for a while but then the problem with crop back.

I am starting to get really tired of not having a fully working device. RIM software development really needs to update their process to do more quality control. Major issues that impact phone (like voice jitter) or the ability for the phone to frickin ring when a call comes in should have been solved before the phone even came out. To release any build of software that has fundamental issues like this is completely unacceptable. I understand that all software has bugs, but these are fundamental basic phone functions...

Is there ANY build of 5x that doesn't have voice jitter issues, ringer problems, major memory problems or other basic fundamental flaws????

Is there a process to reload the OS? I have none of your issues. With the phone anyway.

I've attempted loading this OS, upgrading from 4.6.
I keep getting the 507 error when Loader get to 'Waiting for device initialization'
The BB just attempts to boot, but stops at about 75%, then gives 507.

I've disconnected, reconnected and run Loader again and again, but end up with the same error.

I've even tried the command line
loader.exe /nojvm

New update:

The BB 9000 won't turn on.

I've searched and read other threads but still can't get it to turn on.

Update:

OS issues resolved: I loaded the 5.0 released before this one with no probs

Power issues remain: pulling and replacing battery most times doesn't cause BB to reboot. I have to try REPEATEDLY before it actually reboots. And while its powered off, it won't respond to the wall charger nor USB. I know this may be due to a hardware issue, but hoping its just a battery problem.

I am facing this problem too and have missed some really important calls too
I am planning to shift back to OS4.6 or anything other than this one. Do drop in, if you find a better lower version.

What version is the immediate prior to this one?
Is the voice jitter issue fixed in that prior release?

I am not as much concerned with memory leak issues as just getting all the basic phone functions working together in the same release. Voice quality and alert issues are deal breakers.

If you look carefully at the very first post in this thread, there is a link to the previous OS. I cannot speak to its functionality since I never ran that version.

I tried many ways and still no success ....
I tried without putting the battery I get to the second step when it tries initializing the blackberry, if i put the battery or not it gives me reconnocting to JVM and then says it can not connect to my cellphone... If I keep the battery in from the start it does not get passed the ports because it never connects to it althought it reconizes witch port it is in. Getting error 507 the whole time. Please help. Windows 7, I deleted the vendor file but didnt need to press on the compability files, did not locate that if there was.
