ha ha, that was quite the exchange

so you're saying manually launch bbdevmgr.exe and then loader.exe?

and yes laptops were plugged into power, not running off battery. also turned off usb port power management.

You might try these instructions - When Windows 7 was in beta I bricked my 8330 to the point DM wouldn't recognize it - this has instructions for "forcing" the issue. Maybe it would work. (Sorry if it's a no-no to link to crackberry) Okay I can't post links yet - so just take the spaces out to form the correct link.

Which, of course, is very similar to the information given in thread #3 here.

Sorry, didn't mean to step on any toes - I thought maybe the cmd line part might help. I will retreat back to my lurker status.

I've tried everything and no luck. I'm chalking this up to some sort of hardware failure on the Blackberry, I dont know what else it would be at this point.

Thanks much to everyone for all the help and suggestions.

Default Curve USB Driver Fix

We had a similar issues with some of our XP laptops and 8330s. Try unzipping the attached Zip file, and then right-click and install the RimUsbNT.inf file to install the driver. Also, not sure if you use BES with BB Manager (not desktop), but if you do, try to Nuke the device using that software.

Good luck!
