Default BES 4.1.4.15 Odd Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hey Everyone, I am setting up a BES for a small company that is running SBS 2003 and I am running into some odd issues.

First off I have BES installed on their SQL Server and MAPI is setup for the newly created BESADMIN account. I sent/received an email from that account to ensure it was activated. I then set the Send As permission to be able to Send As every "Domain User". The DB is mounted in SQL 2005 and it seems to be happy as well. There are no errors when I start BlackBerry Manager.

When I attempt to activate a device on the BES itself nothing happens. The account is created on the BES and I set the activation password but the device/server never seem to talk to each other.

I have not port forwaded anything to the server and they are running a SonicWall TZ190 Firewall device. According to the BlackBerry Server Config tool the "Test Network Connection" is valid and my SRP Key and ID are a go.

Any help would be appreciated! This is the third BES on 4.1 that I have setup personally so I was a little surprised when it did not kick. I assume I have missed something really mundane due to my arrogance...

Thanks

can it activate with a USB cable?
are all the services started?
Why not upgrade to SP6?

Wirelessly posted (Breaking Ball)

Are you sure the device(s) have BES data plans and not just personal Blackberry Data Plans?

Perhaps the activation emails are getting caught by anti-virus/anti-spam filters?
