Default Pearl keys make crunchy sticky cellophane noise?

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone have this issue with a new Pearl? I have already tried 2 phones direct from T-mobile business and the first had this problem with the end key. I immediately demanded a replacement only to have the replacement have this issue on the blackberry key, delete key, and TY key.

It is really annoying. I wanna know if anyone else experienced this and if they did anything about it.

I can't decide if I want to keep the first phone with one annoying key or take my chances with the new 3-issue-key phone.

The first Pearl I got had this issue with about 1/3 of the keys...it was QUITE annoying.

I'm on my 3rd Pearl, and don't seem to have any issues now.

I get the ocassional key creak but I don't see it as anything major. Certainly nothing that warrants replacing the device in my opinion.

Not only did I have the exact same problem as the op, but my 5 key started to get very very loose. I took the phone back and got another one. Not much better now the 0 key does it, but not as much as the 5 key did. I guess Ill just deal with it, even though I dont want to.

i've been experiencing the exact same problem with my end key.. didn't realize it was something others were getting too! my friend suggested it was the overlay for the keyboard and suggested to press down on the button really hard to stick it back down. this actually worked for a bit.. but it comes un-stuck after a while. i've considered opening up the phone too!

I think the clicking is cause by the mat that the keypad is on. I think it gets caught when you press the key down and then clicks out of place. With use this problem should go away, but then again who knows. My OP key makes a clicking sound when i press it after a long time, but then stops.

Default Get used to it ...

It's annoying at first but I don't even notice it anymore. I had one phone which was made in Canada and it worked fine. But for other reasons I needed to send it back. Let's just say I went through 2 others that had that problem before I finally just kept the last one which was minimal (FYI, none were made in Canada).

There's some threads from back in November which talk about the non-Canada ones having problems.

I just got used to it and don't even notice it anymore.

I know the threads you are talking bout, most of the people on there said that the Pearls made in Mexico were better. The ones in Canada were the ones making all the noises on the keypad.

I've had my phone for nearly 2 weeks and the noise hasn't gone away, and it still irritates me. It's a little disconcerning that so many people have the issue and I really wish I could just get used to it without having to gamble on another phone but it's still driving me nuts
