Default Desktop Manager Problem

Please Login to Remove!

I am about to kill someone... lol

Desktop manager does NOT work. IT JUST DOES NOT WORK.

- I've installed it about 20 times, the newest version.
- It wouldnt recognize by BB. Now it does, but

- It says some crap about updated danish, spanish etc language packs when it connects. I say cancel - why the @#!$ would I want those.

- Immidiately after, it says "Error reported" and the program closes.

- I open it again, click the restore button fast enough before the idiot language crap comes up, and it begins to restore.

- It errors half way through and the program closes.

I'm sorry to sound so rude, but this is absolutely unacceptable. This software is completely faulty.

I would really appreciate your help.

Here's all my info so you don't have to waste time asking me:

- Windows Vista
- 1 year old computer
- Using perfectly fine Serial PORT not HUB
- Newest version of desktop manager - don't even ask!
- BlackBerry BOLD
- All I want to do is backup my BB so that I can update it because it's constantly slow etc. I need to back up first because this idiot "desktop manager" has errored out and deleted all of my BlackBerry before so I've learned my lesson.

PLEASE HELP.

If I don't get this solved today I am ditching the BlackBerry world (and I have been very loyal, I have 6) and switching to some other device.

That sounds like the Desktop Manager is trying to update your BB software, if you do update you can uncheck the languages you don't want and it will do a backup, then will update it and finally it will do a restore.

Wirelessly posted (VZW Storm, ATT Bold)

Right click on dm short cut then orporties and compatability nd click run as administrator then click save. Should fix it. Once dm is running unintall the languages you don't want loaded ans it won't keep telling you ti update them

Yea i would say try the run as administrator thing, if that doesnt work... you will need to uninstall it again, but when you go to re-install it this time, right click on it, and choose run as administrator... that will install it properly

what OS are you running by the way?

Relax!

This has been discussed here a few times recently. I just did a search and came across this thread with a resolution.

Give it a shot and see if you stay with BB

Why do so many people post questions on these forums and then throw in a line such as "If I don't get this fixed I'm switching to the iPhone!!" or "If no one gives me a solution I'm DONE with BlackBerry phones!!", as if anyone else has a vested interest to keep them using a BlackBerry device?

Frustration and/or immaturity are my best guesses... Who knows? People do things for all sorts of reasons.

Yep.

I've also renamed thread. "WHAT the @!#% IS WRONG?!?!?!" is not a particularly helpful title

Considering we haven't heard back from I assume it's either fixed or he got his iPhone...
