i just recently purchased the bb pearl after my shadow died on me
im pretty satisfied with it
i noticed that it doesnt have a video camera capability
is there an app i can dl

You can watch videos on it but there will never be video capability on it. Don't know why.

Newer BlackBerry devices have video recording capabilities. Yours doesn't.

The second generation Pearl models can all do video - as I understand it (foggy memory of an old press release), the 4.5 software upgrade for 8100 will add that feature - I could be wrong - these days about all I can remember is... wait a minute, I just had it on the tip of my tongue...

The 8110 is a Pearl 2, and already can do video recording.

To my knowledge, the 4.5 software update for the 8100 (original Pearl) is not going to add video recording.

There was a hack to make the video camera work but it only showed up in a green and really fuzzy. Pretty crappy quality so it wouldn't even be worth it if RIM did add it on to the 8100

the 8100's Camera is not capable of recording because of the quality of its materials.


the newer edition of the pearl (8110, 8120, 8130) CAN d recording because of diffferent camera material. (i.e. its made differently)


i also believe that the newer curves can as well, but i am not sure on that


and i have heard mixed from the 4.5 update but like i said before, the camera i way different on the older pearls so idk if the 8100 will ever get video

For sure you can use videorecording on pearl. RIM do not release this feature for you because they need to sell new models too.
