Default Sending MMS Messages with Media Plan

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I currently have a T-Mobile plan that supports unlimited SMS and MMS messaging. However, I read some threads here that said you need a data plan to send MMS messages. Is there any way to send MMS messages without a data plan? I heard something about being on a specific network type, but I couldn't find the thread right now.

I could send MMS messages without a problem on my previous phone, a Motorola RIZR. It seems outrageous that BlackBerries can't simply send MMS messages without a data plan!

You need a data plan on a BlackBerry to be able to send MMS messages.

Verizon won't even sell the Pearl without their $30 data plan included. People have been able to work some Opera Mini browser and maybe txt, but no MMS without data.

thats true as well

with a data plan, opera and many other apps will connect using the HTTP connection (data) but not theou TCP (BIS/BES)

MMS is under the BIS plan i believe so it looks like you are screwed w/o the bb plan

sorry

Wirelessly posted

OP is on T-Mobile. They have a free "feature enabler" add on that let's things like MMS, IM, etc function properly.

camera 322hp is correct! For T-mo customers there is a free data plan for all owners of blackberrys and without the feature the MMS will not work at all. It is different then data plans that give access to the internet at an additional cost. Sometimes the people that sell you the phone forget to add this on. All you have to do is call them and ask to have your account checked to see if its on there.-BUT!!!- Don't expect this to be the end all. I've had my 8100 since Oct 07 and the only thing that has stopped me from throwing it at the wall is knowing that they won't then fix the bugger, I still have intermittent problems with the MMS.

I believe all accounts purchased with an 8120 now come with it enabled by default, mine did and works flawlessly.
