Well I was able to download the application from the site but it still does not allow me to run the application stating I need to activate the handheld for AIM.

What happened to your internet?

My phone had the app on it before too but it directed me to the website for activation. When that website finally worked, it just downloaded the app again...no new service books. Probably just jumping the gun, it will probably be working by tomorrow morning.

Not sure. If they need a service book then they will probably be carrier dependent.

But will the Official AIM Client use Data or SMS/Text messages for the IM Convo's? Cuz if it uses SMS i'll stick to the JiveTalk application for my IM'ing needs.

Is it now possible to do the service book trick that SpencerCDS used for to get Yahoo Messenger onto AT&T phones? i.e. someone post the individual service books, so we can load them onto the phones manually

Did you go to the web site and do a Re-Send Service book?

Or did you go on your blackberry... Options -> Advanced Options -> Host Routing Table... highlight anything... press menu button, select Register Now...

??

I only did the latter yesteday afternoon when I posted.. and that is what brought the new service books in and caused them to start working for me.

I have tried that (as well as resending service books) for the past two days but no new service books arrive.

i did both. but i assume doing it from the website is useless, since it lists my device as a 7100. or does it not matter?
