I believe that the exact same thing happened with the 7130g. Since T-Mobile didn't sell it, they didn't publish the Service Books.

It works fine with an unlocked 8800 because (duh) T-Mobile sells that model.

That won't help with missing/non existent service books, unfortunately.

To those whose browser/T-Zones works properly... Can you:

A) List the Service Books on your device
B) List the HRT that is currently selected (bold)

[EDIT: No need to include the e-mail ones... just the system ones, like IPPP for BIBS, WapBrowserConfig, etc.]

The different HRT records refer to different servers in BlackBerry's cloud, and I'm wondering if the T-Mobile BIS 2.3 upgrade hasn't been rolled out across the board yet. Perhaps that could be why we're all experiencing different issues?

My 8100 running 4.2.1.94 just had the added CICAL service book entries appear, even though I've been swapping devices all day, switching them within BIS, pushing service books, etc...

Me neither. I wonder why? The only obvious difference I see is his HRT. Mine is 31026030.

I should clarify... I could deal with the WAP Browser only (as I could then install stuff OTA) and would happily keep the phone, but it's odd some people have it and others don't.

So the t-zones link i have is a WAP browswer and if I had the regular browser (pushed from t-mo or installed OTA) then that uses BIS? I'm still pretty new and trying to distinguish the difference between the two - my 8100 had both a t-zones icon AND a browser icon.

It's not truly a WAP browser, as it fully supports HTML. It's just a carrier provided link to access the T-Zones homepage, etc.

I don't have that. Though I did have it on my 8100, along with a regular browser icon.

Very weird... so it sounds like I just got lucky on my HRT and got the needed service books sent.

If you read the thread above you'll see that there is no straight answer to your first question... for some we have the t-zone links for web browsing, others do not. You have to ask yourself... do you feel lucky? Well do ya?

I had a browser on my unlocked O2 Curve using T-Mobile. Then I decided to upgrade the OS to the AT&T version today. Big mistake! Browser is now MIA!

I remember something when AIM was released that many users were missing the service book, and there was a way to copy that missing service book from one device and then restore it on your device. Would this be possible with the missing Browser service book??? I can see that book on my 8800, and it's definitely not there on the 8300.

I think you might be referencing the thread below... scrolling through I don't see anything about copying service books from one device to another - it looks like they released a version for TCP and that's what the users without MDS used...

Nope.. wasn't that thread. The closest I can find is this one.

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-released.html

From reading it, I'm pretty sure you should be able to take the service books from one device and make them work on another.

Default I Figured It Out

I have been playing around with options for a few hours now and I got it (at least for myself) so I would like to share what I did:
1) delete all service books
2) hard reset
3) (Disregard this step)
4) register at HRT
5) send service books from tmobile
6) then the bb browser shows up

Good luck!
