My 8300 Processor Sucks- but heck the battery is great
Please Login to Remove!
So I left my 8300 running while I went out to the deck for a glass of wine, and while the battery was the strong, silent type, the processor just couldn't cut it. I had dumped in some onions, carrots and garlic for the soup, and it just couldn't cut it. Oh well, better bake some taquitos.

I knew you'd have an opinion on the battery at some point!

I did not see taquito mentioned there

I was wondering when "this" would start!
I heard RIM was working introducing the new overclocking software on the 8300 in only a few weeks.

But is that before or after T-Mobile releases the 8800 this week?
This should be a part of the exploding parts thread.

So, are you saying the 8300 will be susceptible to the same flaming and exploding fate as the 8100???

It could be way worst! Just look at the size of the 8300 compared to the 8100!
No way I would put it in my pocket!

Exploding - not sure that's the right word, this new gadget apparently has such a strong battery that the vibrator will send reverberations around the world in such a strong manner that they may rename the devices. I guess you could call that exploding.

I just dropped my 8300 out the window of my 5 story office building, luckily it landed screen side up on the street, but then a car ran it over and it broke, do you think there will be a recall????

now if only batteries would last longer when surfing the web i would be a happy camper seriously the processor lags atha much it could be the OS
EG i plan on building a quad coar destop soon not all the apps i have are designed to take advantage of "bleeding edge tech" i wont notice a difference playing som game like splinter cell or mgs 2 but i will notice it on app lik adobe premere> im betting the chip is decent but th OS dose not se the new specs or ws design for curently existing chipsets

Stinsondog, based on your report, I would have to venture a guess that BB hired a bunch of Moto engineers to design the 8300. But, BB didn't know they were Moto engineers, they were undercover in a secret plot to kill the BB since obviously no Moto product can do so on its own.
In the meantime, I've set up my 8300 to take a telescoping lens that is compatable with a Nikon DSLR. I like things that multi-task.
I would imagine that you could replace the processor completely, I mean why bother with the overclocking software update? If need be, simply build your own, it's not hard. MacGyver has probably done it at least three times. Use that as a step by step, then post instructions.
Good luck.
