I just ordered a 4GB San Disk bulk package from Amazon for $24 including shipping. I saw the 8GB ones as well, but was not sure if the device will support.

Newayz they are still available at the price.

Yes, that one should work in an 8330. They can take up to 8GB cards.

I'm about to upgrade my 8700g to an 8310. Would that 8GB Sandisk MicroSDHC also work on the 8310 out of the box, or would I need to upgrade the OS?

You should check with the carriers web site. I think you will need to upgrade your O/S on the 8310 to support the 8GB MicroSDHC.

Presently, the Cruve for Sprint supports 8GB.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but only OS 4.3 and above will support 8GB, which is currently available only on the 8330. You need to wait for the upgrade to go that high on an 8310.

I have heard that as well. I have 4.5.0.18 and my 8GB SDHC card is on the way, so I will keep posted.

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack this thread but will the 8310 accept all SDHCs. I'm thinking of getting an 8gb.

I think if you are running OS 4.3 and up you should be able to. Thats what I have heard anyways.

Go to Options, and then About on your device. The third line or so will have the letter "v" followed by several numbers. This is the OS you are running. The 8310 will not be above 4.3. You have to wait for the upgrade, which it appears everyone that does not have the CDMA curve is waiting for.

I'm using a 8GB SanDisk card and it works flawlessly. I haven't noticed any decrease in performance when pulling media from the card.

I bought my card off eBay for $24. If you search for "Xgb microsd" on ebay you can find a ton of them for cheaper than you will find anywhere online, even Amazon. I routinely see new 4gb cards on there for about $15 plus shipping.

Awesome, yea, i have noticed when buying memory cards that name brand actually matters - for longevity and speed. My 8GB SanDisk should be here tomorrow!

i looked and they are cheap because they are class 2's. Doesn't the Class 4's run a lot faster? or am i over analyzing these super cheap MicroSDHC 8gb memory cards ?

Not sure if Class 4s run that much faster. The bigger the card, the more lag you'll have while accessing info on the device. It's inevitable.

It should still work if you are running 4.3 or higher. (I believe)
