Go to settings / languages, change "Input Language Selection Shortcut" from Alt-Enter to none, then Alt + Enter works where it previously wanted to change the language...

Actually, I just tried this, and it works on mine (OS 4.5.0.69)

I have no idea why it doesn't on yours.

Try tapping the key. If you hold down any key, it will try to dial. It takes a little getting used to, but I use the shortcut keys for most of the apps (calendar, address book, profiles, web browser, lock, BB messenger, etc.), AND I have speed dials attached to some of the same keys.

I'm on 4.5.0.52...

After fresh install alt+enter selects input language (like on any other device). But once you disable that, alt+enter just brings up whatever is running in the background (similar to alt+esc only without showing you the running programs or giving you a choice of which one).

Default Quick Unlock?

Has anyone solved the following: my Curve (on Verizon) prompts me to unlock the keypad, but when I select "Unlock" by highlighting or hitting "U", it simply tells me that my keypad is locked and tells me to hit "*[send]" ...well, maybe I'm being crazy, but honestly, I don't WANT to hit *[send] because it requires two hands. I want to unlock my crackberry with one hand for crying out loud...don't they know I'm probably driving with my other hand???

the berrystore has an AutoLock program.

You would hit *and the green key to unlock...

works like a charm...

Thanks for the response...I was under the mistaken impression that the keystrokes (* and green button) needed to be simultaneous. Just tried it in series and it worked. Thanks.

your best bet is to use an autolock holster or to use the mute key...

I have a program that does it automaticly for me. You can make it lock after 5 sec or up to 2 min after the screen turns off. Its called auto lock.Get it here geek and proud go to the left side and click on Blackberry software. I think its the first one.
I think I must be doing something wrong with this program. It seems to have installed fine, and I set the option to "enable", but it's not doing anything.

Any help from those that are using it successfully?

I used the mute key as a keyboard lock on the 8320 and after some time (maybe 30 mins) they "standby mode" automatically turns off and I was able to pocket dial numbers. I wouldn't recommend using that feature for a keyboard lock.

This has never happened to me, and the mute is the only lock I use. I do not make as many calls as some of you, so mine will typically sit in stand by for hours with out issue. Heck, even overnight when I forget to turn it off.

So are you sure you do not have something else going on?

I set that in the screen/keyboard settings and it didn't work. It still goes to the Push to Talk app. What am I doing wrong?

You need to set it in order to do so because by default it's PTT.

Options>Screen/keyboard>Left side convenience key opens: set that to "keyboard lock"
