Question BlackBerry 8310 Memopad shortcuts

Please Login to Remove!

Are there any BlackBerry 8310 Memopad shortcuts? For example, the shortcuts, T (go to the top) and B (go to the bottom), that work with some other BBs don't seem to work on the 8310, apparently because you are immediately in edit mode after opening a memo and there is no way to leave edit mode without closing the memo. Also, I can't find descriptions of 8300 memopad shortcuts in any Blackberry documentation not have I stumbled upon any by trial and error.

if you don't have it set to dial from home screen, while you are on home screen hit the letter D and that should take you to the memopad. Hope that helps

I don't believe there are shortcuts because with a memo you are typing text in a field. For me, in order to get out of a memo without closing it I press the End Call button and that takes me to the Home Screen without closing the memo. Then I can go back to the memo when I want to.

Default Scrolling is not a viable alternative to "T" or "D"

That the whole point: on the BB Pearl and the 7290, you had to manually select Edit after you opened a memo. Before going to edit mode, you could press T or D or search to navigate to some location in the memo before opening it. Now, on the 8310, you have to (painfully) scroll to the bottom.

Oh, I see. I thought you meant inside the actual memo. Yeah, the only thing you can do is search for the name of the memo, or set categories and set a filter.

He did mean inside the actual memo (and not just looking for or scrolling through the memo names).

We used to be able to scroll through the text of a particular long memo while in a viewing mode (not editing mode). Separating viewing and editing modes this way (a separation that still exists for address book contacts) allowed the use of keyboard shortcuts to navigate through a memo's text, much the way you can now navigate through an e-mail message's text using the shortcuts "t" to jump to the top, "b" to jump to the bottom and space-bar to jump down several lines.

Where, oh where, have the MemoPad's shortcuts gone ?
