Blackberry Messenger can only be used between BB with data plan?? I tried to use it with another BB without data plan but no go...

Also, when you send a message in Blackberry Messenger it has an R and D, what does each stand for? Aaand one more, why is that when I send a message in Blackberry Messenger to someone it switches to "busy"??

For BB Messanger you are correct you both need data plans.

(D means delivered) (R means read)

Busy means the other person is most likely doing something on his or her BB.

Wirelessly posted (troydbrown is Chad!)

Both bbs must have BB data to use bbm

D is delivered
R is received

You do need either a data plan, although I'm pretty sure it'll work with WiFi also (I don't have a WiFi phone, so someone can correct me if I'm wrong).

BBM requires access to the BB infrastructure -- the same requirement for PIN messaging and push email. I can't say for certain but I don't think you'll be able to use any such features without a BB data plan (WiFi or not).

It is read. Delivered and Received would be pointlessly redundant.

if one were to send a picture or a sound clip via BBMessenger, would that count as a MMS message? I have unlimited SMS messaging on my plan, but no MMS. That would cost extra. Am I paying to send photos and such over BBMessenger or is it included in the unlimited data plan that I have?

Thanks
