Export SMS to Outlook
Please Login to Remove!
Has anyone had any success using MobileArchiver to export BB SMS message to Outlook. Based on MobileArchiver's website I downloaded their program, installed it, after that it's a real simple process of selecting your IPD file and clicking import. I was only able to get it to work one time for me and that was on the IPD file I selected as my test of this program. It only had 3 SMS message in it. After that test which worked successfully, the program would only import my call log from that point forward.
There is a tech support email address that promises a 24 hour reply but I have not received a reply to any of the 3 emails I have sent since the 7th of August.
I would love to buy this program but if the free 10 day trail does not work and tech support is not responding then I can't see it being worth it. So, has anyone used this program that can or know of one similar that can import into gmail or outlook and at the same time maintain the SMS contact names and conversation history?

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
I've used DexRex with great success. My only caution is to set it for manual backup rather than on a schedule. I took a significant toll on my battery when I had it set for auto-backup.

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
Can you provided more detail re: what you mean by "Moved to Aftermarket Software" and the link you provided that lead discussion forum. How can I use the information you proved to solve my SMS issue?

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
DexRex does not archive IPD (BB backup files), which is what I am trying to do. Some of my old IPD files were created using different version of BB software and will not restore all the SMS messages correctly to the latest version.

enate - you posted in the wrong forum.
I moved your post to the correct forum. No need for the attitude. Thank you.

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
No attitude, I am new to posting and if it appeared I was expressing an attitude it is that I simply do not, yet, understand the correct posting terms. In fact I am still unclear of how to now go to that post and research it for additional replies to the post you moved. So any assistance you can provide is appreciated, and thanks for you willingness to assist.

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
Also why is the Port3010 forum a better forum then this one for this issue to you, especially since I first learned about MobileArchiver from this forum?

Not better. Just different.
More Enterprise than consumer oriented.

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
As I said I am new here but, MobileArchiver (at least the single user version I am referring to) is not enterprise based. In your replies you did not answer my questions regarding moving my post. Are you the admin of this site, and is that why you moved my post. At this point I have no answer and I am still unclear why you moved my post and how to check the site you moved it to. If you are admin can you provide more detail if not at least explain why you moved it, are you famiilar with the MobileArchiver?

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
I am a moderator of the site.
I moved the question about a third party application to the Aftermarket Software section. I had no intention of answering a question about a tool that I don't use.
Since MobileArchiver is not made by RIM, it is Aftermarket. So that's why I moved it.

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
enate,
Many of us have forum signatures. It shows up below all of our posts. Sometimes it pertains to the current subject and sometimes not. In my case, I put links to forum utilities to assist folks in finding commonly asked questions.
Hope that clears things up a bit.

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
Yes it did clear up a lot of my questions. It seems that I may have picked the wrong forum to search for my answer. Thanks again.

I think your attitude may be better suited elsewhere.

Re: Export SMS to Outlook
Dude, you way to thin skinned, in fact my last reply was not even to you, but as one of the moderators of the site, you are making it clear that if you don't agree with a post then the user is unwelcome on this forum. If you had checked the forum you would have seen, as I pointed out, that I learned about MoblieArchiver from this site. That is why I came back to ask for help. devnull - unlike you, understood that I am a new user who was seeking to understand.
