Default Barcode Scanning Module for Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi ,

I am new to this blackberry development.
I am looking for a module which will help to scan barcode using the camera.
Let me know if RIM provides api for barcode scanning, or i any third party application is available which can be integrated with the JDE application.

Thanks

Para

Hey Para,

I'm also new at this but I did find a java program called zxing ( Zebra Crossing ) which has a module for blackberry. From what I've researched , there is no stand alone rim barcode decoder.

Website -> code.google.com/p/zxing/

I believe you can simulate camera click every few seconds to get what you want.

But, as far as I know when you use camera.invoke() it can listen to only filejournal listener so you will be notified only if any file will be saved there.

And if you are using player then the getsnapshot() stills the camera after capturing image.

Have you tried any of the above in different manners? were you able to get the desired results (sensing image while camera is on).

Please let me know if you have any knowledge about this.

Thanks
