Please Login to Remove!

Got the following error message when trying to update to a higher operating system.
Device does not have sufficient storage space .... - please select fewer optional applications or clear some application data from the device.
How do I do this?
Thanks

Remove some apps, how many do you have installed?
Delete old emails/text/mms if you keep them forever

Really need more info than you provided.

Options>status>file free
How many apps installed?

Thanks. I have done some of this.
I have about half a dozen apps installed including some with GPS tracking etc. (perhaps part of the memory problem). I generally do not erase e-mails and rely on the system to erase them.
Where can I see a write-up on how to handle memory for the 9000. I have a micro SD card in the unit, however, I do not think that it is being used effectively. Cheers,

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000)

Darn nebulous error messages.

GPS apps are serious memory hogs, as well as any apps that constantly run in the background (Google apps, Facebook, Myspace, etc.). If you have any of these installed, go to options and log out rather than just close them. This will completely stop them from running and free up significant amounts of memory.

Here's a couple writeups on how to free up memory and optimize your device. They're a couple years old but still relevant:
