Angry Unable to connect to db

Please Login to Remove!

I opened up Blackberry Manager on BES this evening ( I have 4.0) and got the following error:

Unable to connect to the database!

After I click ok and Manager opens up I have a nice blank screen with no BES server showing. However, if I go into properties and test the connection to the database it is successful.

Also, I can't try and blame RIM as emails are still successfully sent and received from Blackberry's on that server.

Anyone else experienced this problem before? Have any suggestions?

Thanks

Kathryn

Yes.
You get that all the time if you are not logged in using the correct BESAdmin account.
The account you are using doesn't have the correct privileges to connect to the database.
Your server is running (indicated by the fact users are still sending/receiving), you will not be able to make changes or view it using the Management Console if you are not using the authorised BES administrator account.

Note - if you are using a remote PC to administer the BES, create a Windows account with the same user name and passwords on the BES machine so your SQL connection will authenticate.

Question BB's not receiving emails

I am logged in as the BES Admin account which has full access to the database.

However I have checked this morning and I have connection to the database but noone has received emails on Blackberry's since last night now.

Has anyone heard if RIM is having any issues at all?

Thanks

Haven't had any or heard of any SRP/outtage issues.

I assume you've checked that the SQL service is running and you can run commands remotely on it.

Thumbs up BES up and running again

Thank you for your responses.

BES decided that it would send email again this morning around 7:45AM PST. I did not make any changes. Sounds like a RIM issue to me - anyone else experienced any outages? I'd like to find out if it was an outside issue as I cannot fathom what it could have been internally!

Thanks

Kathryn
