Default Blocking certain models from connecting?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I have a problem at the moment where users are going out buying all sorts of devices and swapping their Sim cards into them. We have a strict list of devices we support, and people are starting to ignore.

My question is. IS there a way to block certain device being connected to the BES by any means possible?

Many Thanks

Nick

I know this is possible with BES 4.1, but not sure on anything before that. What version of BES are you using?

As d_fisher said that won't be available until 4.1.

What you could do is set a PIN# or password on the SIM cards on newly deployed devices, provided of course that you have access to the devices before hand.
The following link describes the approach http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgec...32312&vernum=7
This might be a little more cumbersome to put in place though.

That is an option I could use! thanks for your help. Oh and out of interest, is there actually official dates on 4.1 release yet, looks like the US will get before us in the UK amyway, but just wondered.
