Default Transfer SMS and Contacts from PPC Windows Mobile to Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hey, this is my first post on this forum!

My question is:
I am coming from a windows mobile phone (Touch Pro) and going to a Blackberry (Storm). My major concern was transfering my texts. I read that it is pretty easy transfering contacts via outlook, but i couldnt find anything in regards to texts.
I have backed up my texts using programs like SPB backup and PIM Backup, is there anyway to restore these on a blackberry? Anyway to put it to a Pc then to the blackberry. I am willing to try anything to get this to work.

Please leave me your suggestions and comments.

Thanx!!

P.S. I have already tried desktop manager, but it only transfers contacts, not texts.

Agree with the above, no way AFAIK, other than to resend them to the new device.

Might query Google and see what you find.

I did come across something called Jeyo Extender, basically it syncs your wm phone with outlook and creates a subfolder for sms. I exported that sms as a csv file and attempeted to convert it to an ipb using ABC Amber, but i get an error "neccessary files not found".
Any ideas?

Or Are there anybackups i can put on the wm phone and then convert the file to an ipb?

A subfolder of what? Keep in mind that email doesn't sync.

You might want to try to search for a program that can work with a blackberry backup idp file. I've seen several that can extract sms from the file, but you might be able to find one that can import sms and you can then reload that into the bb.

Edit:
Here's something from the beta forum. Just read only but a post said it will allow editing in a future release. You might be able to find something like this that is already out there:

You can transfer media to the microSD card without Desktop Manager. In fact, you should only transfer photos to the media card so as not to use up the space on the device. With the microSD card, the drive will appear in Windows Explorer and you can transfer the files directly to the card.
