I cannot connect using the official BB Desktop Software as my device will not connect...

Is there any way to get into the blackberry through a terminal program or some other similar USB entry program?

There are no recent .ipd files for me to load, but I need to get the data off the device before I reinstall the OS.

I know of several programs to gain entry to COD files etc... But I need to access the contacts and notes..

All help would be much appreciated...

Sorry - a 507 indicates no operating system on the BB. There is no way to get into the BlackBerry.

As NJ said above, if you don't have a backup or haven't synced with Outlook, then I am afraid they are gone.

But when I go in with BBSAK or another similar program there is still tons of stuff there... CODs etc... Why would the data be gone if that stuff isn't?

So you asked a question and two people gave you the same answer. CODs are programs, not data.
The OS install got corrupted. You can't get data off if the BB won't boot.
