I have a friend who also has a BlackBerry and I have him as a contact on my BBM.
Whenever he texts me (not BBM), I receive that message in BBM. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

i am running os 5.0

It is not BBM. It is sms, just looks different (threaded). No way to change it

Yup, SMS handled differently when you are on 5.0. I like the new interface though -- doing away with open, reply, delete, when you can just "talk" (threaded).

On the new versions of BBM in OS 5.0, if you have a BBM contact linked to a BlackBerry Contact, you will receive SMS in BBM from that Contact.

Interesting. I never had that happen. I guess I am incorrect then. I'm not sure how to fix it then

Just go into BBM and un-link the contact, but they won't show up in your contacts then.

It actually creates quite some confusion for me. I have limited sms that comes with my plan every month. Anything over the limit is chargable. Sometimes, with the threaded view, I mistake the sms to be BBM and chat away, clocking gazillion sms in the process...

I keep the format different for each so that I can tell them apart. BBM gets bubbles and sms gets stripes.
