Ever try to point something out to someone and they won't see what you're pointing at because they are looking at your finger? I can take disagreement, but dang, stop looking at my finger and look at what I'm pointing at. And full disclosure, I'm sure I've occaisionally looked at the finger, too, but I try awful hard not to make that mistake. Still it's frustrating to see people looking at the finger.

Ira, my dog does that, stares at the finger, licks it, etc. I have to throw something at whatever it is, to get him to look at the object.
But I have noticed with with some people, too.
"NO, over there. Not here!" lol

Well, if you would point with the index finger instead of the one next to it... (-;

O/T On dogs: Look on TV for a show running on national geographic channel (I think) about dog intelligence and the fact that there's more there than youu might think. Dogs (most of them, anyway) are very unique in their capabiltiy of interpreting where a human is pointing or looking. Of course this is attributed to the dog's evolution alongside mankind. But cool. Our primate relatives fail these sorts of tests, as 'smart' as they are. (And of course I'm talking real pointing, here, not metaphorically.)

Try this:
Throw something in the general direction of a human. They will invaraiably look at where it came from.
Now throw something in the general direction of a dog. They will invaraibly look at where it landed.
Works every time, I swear!

When a finger points at the moon, the imbecile looks at the finger. -Chinese Proverb
Yesterday there was some pointing at the moon and the not only did the person refuse to look at the moon, but argued that the finger was the issue. I know it happens all the time. Got to me yesterday, though.

I've started pointing at another finger pointing somewhere else, just to confuse people. Plus it gives me a chance to use both hands.

It's a beautiful city, like San Fran's little sister, or Seattle's (slightly) cleaner cousin. Or maybe it's Seattle's little sister....San Fran's cleaner cousin....
Anyways, glad you like it, I haven't been down to Florida, but it sounds pretty interesting, perhaps one day...
