1. Verify that your internal firewall is open to the Internet Protocol (IP) ranges indicated in the Knowledge Base Article KB-03735 . (For the Americas, there are a minimum of 2 IP addresses that you need to assure are added: 206.51.26.33 and 204.187.87.33.). The TCP port 3101 does not change.

2. Verify the Service Routing Protocol (SRP) address in your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software. To do this, confirm that you are using the recommended SRP address host name as referenced in the Knowledge Base Article KB-04359 . To determine the SRP address assigned to your country, use the SRP Addresses lookup tool located on the BlackBerry web site.

As you are aware, RIM is implementing a new High Availability (HA) BlackBerry® Infrastructure. In an effort to better support the continuity and availability of the BlackBerry service, the HA BlackBerry Infrastructure will interoperate between two sites.

RIM has performed two rounds of testing on the HA BlackBerry Infrastructure on October 28 and November 11, 2006.

Another such test will occur this weekend, on November 18, 2006 during a maintenance window between 1:00 xxx8211; 6:00 am EST.

With the proper configuration settings for your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software, RIM expects that the BlackBerry service will not be impacted by this test. If you have not confirmed and updated your settings to your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software, please do so before the testing is set to begin on November 18th.

I got the same email. Nice that they sent it the day before they plan to implement this.
The second part asks to verify/set the SRP address, but I can't seem to find the location of that setting. Can someone point me to it?
I'm running Exchange 2003 and BES 4.0.5.5

Start/All Program/Blackberry Enterprise server. Click on Blackberry Server Configuration. Then click on the Blackberry Router tab.

Thanks for that.My setting is not what they say it should be for USA: srp.us.blackberry.net. I have: srp.blackberry.net
Since they supposedly tested this before I'm reluctant to change it.

Yeah just make sure your SRP address matches the one in the KB and it isn't an IP address because I assume one IP address will be brought down to test the failover.

Mine was at srp.na.blackberry.net. I tested it and it was successful. I changed it like they suggested to srp.ca.blackberry.net (I'm in Canada) and tested it sucessfully.

I like how the email starts off "As you are aware". I wasn't aware and I take it neither were most who have at least posted in this thread.

Yeah you want to change that to the specific country code just for fun.

srp.na.blackberry.net has been converted to srp.us.blackberry.net for individualization, although the latter is just a cname for the prior one. my guess is that NA will not go away anytime in the next how ever long, but as they diversify their resources, they may change some things that could adversely affect you.
