We would like to install a second BES in another site as a back up server in case of a failure at our primary site. I've read most of the documentation about creating the exact replica recovery server and leaving the services disabled until needed etc..

My question is:

In the scenario where a server dies and we revert to the DR server how does the exchange 2007 server then deal with another BES using a different IP address? Is the integration into the exchange 2007 environment easily facilitated?

Exchange does not deal with second bes but other way around. BES establishes MAPI connection to a Exchange. It has nothing to do with an IP of the second BES.

Ok, silly question alert.

Does the DR BES have to have the same name as the primary or is that also a non-issue?

You must make Blackberry Server name is the same as old one (during installation of second BES software) but windows server name obviously will be different.
