Seemed sort of slow this afternoon, but I didn't think much of it, but last message I got was at about 5 pm Pacific Time.

On Verizon in So. California

The weird thing is my sister is right here and her Tour on Verizon is working just fine, email and BBM. Very strange!

Here in Chicago... we have been down since about 545p central time....

An outage is not the end of the world... we have 4 national offices; about 500+ various BB devices....
Currently using webmail and good ol fashioned telephone calls.

"...dies like this." ? really? Still unequivocally the most reliable email device out there.

I'm just sayin....

Exclamation

RIM must have done something at their data center. I just received notice from about a dozen of the BES servers I manage that their connections to RIM dropped and were re-established a minute later. They are all on different ISP's in different states, so RIM obvious dropped the connections from their end.

Maybe they had to CTRL-ALT-DEL the data center!

In BC on Bell and most of my services are down and have been down for many hours. Phone works but no googletalk, weather, browser, bbm, and no emails aside from gmail. Spoke with Bell a about 3 hours ago and they said there was some issue in Ontario but that was all they knew. I haven't checked RIM's site but I wish that service providers (mine at least) would post a notice on their websites so that we don't have to all come together and try to figure out what the deal is. We're the ones who pay the bills... gives us frequent updates damnit.

When in doubt, reboot!

Hmmm...mine's getting worse. Verizon Tour dropped to 1xev.

Oh well. I e-mailed my users and let the Help Desk know. Almost time for bed. It'll be up by morning...

Yeah, this is bad. I did get a red 'x' on a (BIS) mail sent around 705 pm in New York. Checked my account later (gmail) and it actually got sent. NADA coming in though. Sent another about an hour ago - red 'x' and didn't go through.

Something tells me if they did give frequent updates that people would be screaming that they should be fixing the issue, not wasting time giving updates. RIM really can't win. Everyone either wants absolute perfection or they proclaim RIM to be scum.

I am sure they are even more upset than you are and working feverishly to fix the issue. Servers and things go down, it happens, and I am sure they hate it. I actually feel bad for them. The abuse they are getting on Twitter is just horrible.

G-Mail isn't working here in Nevada. Neither is my internet connection or Opera. My service shows edge instead of EDGE. All I have is phone service.

Socal/VZ Wireless/BB Curve - Last time I was able to successfully use my data services was approx 4:30pm PST, gave it a couple hours, called VZ and found out it's nationwide. Nothing to do now but sit back and watch the tweets fly...funny stuff on twitter about this going back and forth with iphone vs. BB peeps...good times, RIM. Happy Holidays!
