Does anybody know why my bberry messenger icon is telling me I have 1 message but when I check I have nothing. Is my icon stick? How do reset? Already tried a battery pull but didn't help.

Usually a battery pull will fix it. Are you sure you don't have any requests?

If that does not work, you can try having someone send you a BBM message, read it, and see if that clears it up

Good Idea. I actually have a conversation with myself going for just such occasions. Also, keeps me from feeling lonely!

I do not have any new requests, though I accepted one recently and it is listed as pending.

I have also done the Battery pull reset without luck, and had someone send me a new msg and then cleared it.

Any other suggestions?

Also - what's the story behind the lag time when someone sends me a request and I accept? Why does it go to pending after I have accepted?

See if you have the option of Switching Conversation. When you flip between sessions, it gets cached sometimes. Close the other conversation, it should go away.

I had a phantom BB Messenger icon appear and what I found that I had sent an invite to someone and their email address was bad. Look under "pending" and see if anything is there. If so, just delete it. That should clear it up.
