on my curve i was able to customize the number of times (1, 2, or 3) of alerts i received for any particular message whether it be email, sms, mms, bberry messenger, etc.

for example, on my bberry messenger i had chosen the "sonar" style alert tone and had chosen "3" alert tones for my messages. on the new storm i see that it does not offer that option, and only alerts once. am i missing something? or does anyone have a solution for getting more alerts like in the old curve?

You can set it the way you are used to. You need to choose "custom" for vibration setting and it will let you set the number of vibrations, the length of each vibration, and holster in/out setting. Not sure why RIM hid these settings this way but it is there.

thanks crazylegs. but since you mentioned the vibration mode, does it only work for customizing the vibration mode, or will it also allow you to customize the audible alerts?

sms alert not working
