Does anyone know how to set up BBconnect for Rogers on the E90?

Does anyone know if the other apps installed on the e90 are going to use the BIS access point when BB connect is installed? Or is the e90 capable of using two access points at the same time (e.g. one for BB connect in the background and normal gprs for everything else)?

I'm asking because my BB plan only includes 5mb of traffic while my general gprs plan has 1.5gb per month

only blackberry apps using BIS access point.
the others (web, 3rd apps, built in email clients, etc) will using GPRS access point.

works great on BIS as well - I took the plunge and installed it on my e90 today, works like a charm and uses less battery than microsoft direct push.

These two articles give you an overview about the limitation of BlackBerry Connect on Nokia and
BIS
BES

arrrg that sucks. I was reading somewhere that BBC was BES only. I cancelled my BB plan, just 2 weeks ago. Ugh I miss my push email so much. Well back to Berry I go. Berry + E90= love

Now at one time I had BBC installed on my 90. I recall now that the software informed me I needed BES. Obvisiously I had the wrong version. Where can I download the BIS version?

The s/w is the same for BIS & BES. It does ask you to install the enterpise edition and provide user name and p/w given by your IT admin. Ignore all that.

If your BB plan/service is activated by your service provider , you will notice the Blackberry logo ( otherwise it shows a line across it) and E or 3G logo showing active GPRS connection.

businesssoftware.nokia.com

1. check your firmware first (*#0000#)
2. download BBC version which match with your firmware (check on website)

no different client between BIS and BES, both using same BBC version.

I hear you... I can't get myself to stop using push e-mail although I only use it for personal e-mails. Tried several times but keep on coming back to blackberry (or BB connect) some way or another.

As for your question: there's only one version. If you use BIS, you just ignore all the BES stuff about enterprise activation etc. You simply go to your provider's BIS web interface, change the device there (IMEI and PIN can be found under "Blackberry -> Settings -> right click until you reach the "Device Info" menu".

Once you've entered your new device info you can set up your e-mail accounts in the web interface. The service books are sent to your e90 automatically and you're go to go.

Yes.since the past 2 weeks that I have succeeded in getting my BIS up and alive.
In fact in the beginning ,when I didnot have the BB plan on my number , it wouldn't connect and I could see no PIN in the device details. I would think that my phone is blacklisted, but then it struck me that I need the plan activated 1st .............

It is better than the Pearl for me,since I am very fast on t9 and my email usage is around 20-30 replies/day. So I can manage with this tiny dynamite.

So I reactivated my BB plan yesterday. When going to my providers BIS website it asked me for the IMEI and PIN. Now is it asking for my old Berry's PIN and IMEI or that from the 90? I mean the 90 doesn't have a PIN, so what should I enter? So I entered the numbers from my Berry, and my activation was stuck in an endless loop...well actually it just said "activating...." for 8 hours. So my friends, what do I do?

How can the e90 not have a PIN. Check in device info. It shows when your BB connect is on and dissappears when you turn it off.
