Advice 7290 vs 7100
Does anyone have advice on buying a 7290 with cingular vs the 7100 with tm obile. I am aware of the coverage differences but which one is better and which one will have 4.0 sooner.
Thanks for your help?

Better is a really subjective word... I will give you my opinion.
First off, I think we'll see 4.0 from a US carrier about the same time for both. There is a version of 4.0 for the 7290 from a Hong Kong carrier, but I have not tried it. Others have. Grapevine has it that there was a problem in the 4.0 code for the 7290 and 7100t and RIM had to fix it and have it recertified and retested.
It all depends on your needs; it you are going to don 75% (or more) e-mail, then get the 7290 - it is an e-mail centric device, with a decent phone. If you want a great phone with very good e-mail (with phone being the more important feature) then get the 7100t. I currently have a 7100t. But the 7290 is great.
I can't say which is better - it depends on what you want and need.

7290 vs 7100
Does 3.8 do OTA syncs like 4.0 including contacts assuming you have 4.0 BES? IF not I don't understand what 4.0 offers me? I just want complete ota sync not just calendaer. I also use it primarily for email and carry a phone so maybe I will go get a 7290 from cingular. I need hlp quick since I am going tonight to the store tonight?

Both will offer you the same technical benefits, and both with have 4.0 available about the same time, although this will be pretty much useless for you (at least it will not give you any real advantages over 3.7/3.8) until your BES is 4.0.
My preference would be for a 7290 as the full qwerty keyboard is better than the 7100\'s Suretype keyboard for data entry.

If you need it for primarily email, I would go with the 7290. I think you will be much happier with it. Unlike the other 7200 series, the 7290 also give you bluetooth support, making the phone much easier to stand with a headset if it doesn't agree with you. There are no such upgrades for the 7100 for email.
