Default BES Express v. Hosted Service

Please Login to Remove!

I hope this is posted in the correct place, if not I apologize.

I have read threads here and in other forums, trying to figure out the best way (for me) to go - and have been unable to figure it out. I would be a single user and would like to be able to synch Outlook (including calendar, contacts) from out of the office whether the office computer is on or off.

What I have been unable to determine is exactly what Express synchs. I have read it may be difficult to setup.

Thank you for any advice or even pointing me toward the answer.

It provides the exact same functionality as an Enterprise BES. The Express BES is a BES server and one CAL. You must add additonal licenses as you need - with a limit of 15.

I'd recommend going with hosted BES. Otherwise you'll have to maintain and ensure that the server/PC running BES Express is up and running. If you're away from it you're going to be out of luck. With hosted BES the BES provider is responsible for this.

That is exactly what I was wondering. If I understand correctly, my office PC would be the "server." It must be on all the time and running without any problems. The wireless network connected to that computer must also be running without glitches. If my understanding is correct, I agree that I should get a hosted BES.
