Hey All!

I was browsing ShopBlackberry.com last week and saw that they finally have their Blackberry brand 8700 Leather Swivel Holster!! I just got it in the mail yesterday, and it's a great holster!! And It says on the site that the pouch is coming shortly too!

How did this get by Lgreenberg? I figured he would have already had a review out for this.

Is this something new or the same as I reviewed on March 3rd?

http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...ighlight=hands

Edit - I just looked at the site. It's the same. Smart Phone Depot has had this case since March 3rd. Very old news.

I don't think it's the same. The one you reviewed had a flap, this one doesn't, got to http://www.shopblackberry.com/_black...kBerry%208700c

Notice it is different from the vertical pouch. I think you may have missed this one.

Not doubting but I checked his review, also this holster does not appear on the SmartPhoneDepot website.

I think the shopblackberry site has the same pouch, just with and without clip. lgreenberg has covered in his review. Got mine from SPD. Lovin' it.

Yes it's the same one I reviewed.

The Pouch has no belt clip. The Leather Holster is the same thing as the pouch but has a belt clip (and it's the one I reviewed.)

It does have flap you just can't tell from the picture because it's only showing the back. We went through this when it first came on the Blackberry web site a few weeks ago. rcg from Smart Phone Depot confirmed the part number was the same as the Leather Holster they were selling on their web site. I even had ordered one from RIM because I though it was different and ended up cancelling the order.

Stupid me for questioning you. The website really threw me off, why would they just show the back, that's ridiculous or highly clever. Wish the OP had posted pics and saved me the trouble.

We will have the pouches (no belt clip) in a couple of days.

We now have plenty of the swivel clip versions.

rcg -- Are you able to find out whether RIM plans to offer OEM leather open holsters and pouches (that is, without the flap) for the 8700 like they do for the 7100 series?
