Default Default Browser

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to the BB. My iPhone was stolen on Wednesday in Chattanooga and AT&T wanted $400 to replace it. Yeah, right. I wanted to move to Verizon anyway so here I am!

Question: Is there a way to change the default browser from the proprietary browser to Opera Mini on my 8530?

Thanks, John

Nope. You can use Opera Mini. But you can't make it the default browser.

You might be able to use Bolt browser and set it as your default. There's an additional plugin for that.

Any reasons why you wanted to get a Blackberry in these times? I used to think I would never let Blackberry down but they have fallen so far behind the competition. The only reason I am not moving to Verizon to get the Palm Pre Plus is that I can't afford to pay $100+ to verizon for the service I have with Sprint for $70. So I am waiting impatiently for the Nexus One to come to Sprint.
I hope you will find something you like on the Blackberry. I have been trying in vain to view youtube videos on my BB8330.

Here you go: http://boltbrowser.com/bblauncher/BBLauncher.jad

I haven't tried it on 2.0 but I'd assume it should still work with it.

It works but I wish they simply give us another menu options, were can either choose "get link" to open the BB browser or "Open In Bolt".. That would make it easier.

Especially because mobiles open quickly in the BB Browser but we all know their is alot the BB won't open correctly, which is where Bolt comes in.
