Hello to all of you out there.
I purchased a Blackberry 8320 4 days ago. It's a T-mobile which I asked a friend to get to India. I used the phone perfectly for three days, then I saw an OS update and liked the new features it brings along.
So I installed 4.5.0.44 on my blackberry and I was happy with the new features except some parts of the interface which did not appear to be impressive.
The key problem that emerged afterwards was that my phone does not charge like it used to with the charger. It does not show the bolt symbol and shows the symbol of USB connection(shows a plugged in status). It does not charge, there in no movement along the battery display.
I had to adopt an alternate mode to charge my phone. I have to switch off my phone, take out the battery and then plug in the charger and once it shows the battery not inserted icon, I insert the battery and it starts to charge, however it still shows the plugged in icon instead of the bolt icon but charges the phone. Another wierd thing I observed was that the phone while its switched off and charging, even if I remove the charging socket out of the phone, the LED light remains on and stays green, I can't do anything unless I remove the battery and then insert it again so as to operate the phone.
I am totally messed up at this point of time. I have to trick the phone or the software everytime to charge it with a charger.
What can I possibly do at this time?
Any suggestions?
Has anyone faced any such problems before?
Does the green LED remaining remaining on and active even after I deplug the charger pose any considerable risk. Can the same mess up my phone If I continue to charge it in the manner I m doing it right now.
Can it mess up the phone's internal system and crash the system and cause damage to the hardware as well?
Please advice?
I've never seen this before. Are you trying to charge from the computer or from a wall charger? If neither will work you might try downgrading the OS back to what you had before and see if that helps.
The wall charger also charges but it shows the plugged in icon and as I mentioned, I have to switch off the phone and then remover the battery and when the no battery icon appears I insert the battery and the phone charges with the wall charger but the icon display is the same 'plugged in' and not the bolt.
The charger is new, only 4 days old and was working perfectly before the OS update and still does on my friend's BB, but has problems with mine.
Dear Sir,
one more thing, after I switch off the phone and I remove the battery and the red icon appears after I insert the wall charger into the charging port, my phone switches on by itself, is this normal or the usual manner in which a BB should operate.
Please help.
Dear Sir
Will an upgrade possibly help or the safest way is to downgrade to the original OS.
another thing I would like to know is that whether I would need to downgrade to a Desktop manager with a version 4.2 or I can use the 4.5?
You said it worked under 4.2. If you suspect it's the OS, then you should downgrade back to what worked. I suspect it's a problem with your charger but then, what do I know?
