Default Selling my Verizon 8830, How Do I Get My Number Out of It?

I did two wipes, erased my memor card, I never signed up for any BB services to cancel the last thing I need to do is get my cell number wiped out of it. How do I do that? It doesn't appear my phone used a SIM card, the slot for it is empty. Help!

Verizon devices don't use a SIM.

When you get your number activated on a new device, it will not available on your old device.

I wish that were the case but my cell phone number still shows up in my 8830 even though I got my Storm activated with the same number.

Dial ##000000 and remove the number in the editing screen.

Just because your number shows there, doesn't make it active. When the phone is activated with another number, the number showing there will be replaced with the number it's been activated with.

I knew that there was something similar for an old VZW CDMA phone that I had years ago but had no idea this also worked for the BB. Is there a 'master list' of codes to access the internal features of your VZW device?

You're just nitpicking now.

Verizon devices don't use SIM cards to access their network. Why does my 8330 not have a SIM card but still make calls and receive data? Because as JSanders stated, Verizon devices don't use SIM cards (to access their network).

The reason you have a SIM is to access GSM frequencies in Europe (on the 8830, all GSM networks on newer devices such as the Storm and Tour). I believe you already know this.
