You can try formatting it in a computer, or re-format it in the BB.

I meant can you take the card out of the BB and re-format it with the computer, ie card reader. The pull the battery from the BB install the card and it should be good.

Yep sometimes when you put a new card in it dosen't read it right. Re-formatting it via the computer usually works. Even though you can hot swap the card, I always pull the battery when I take mine out. I have never had a problem this way. And always check newegg.com great prices.

Probably 7. something folders and formatting, but not that much of a big deal.

It all depends on your phone and OS.

Default Not Compatible

The Curve is not compatible with an 8GB card. It only reads up to 4GB.

that is correct you will have 4gb available. even if it says 8gb is present, you wont be able to access past 4.

Sith is correct, i have the Curve (8310 4.2.2.163) i can see capacity of the card at 8GB but if i put more that 4Gb of data on it the phones says the card is corrupt.

Using the Sandisk 8GB card btw.

Bring on handset code 4.5.

Did you really say that word?

Not to fear! Soon, no one know when, they will issue a OS update that will allow your phone to use the whole card so you have not wasted your money. The new OS will be out in a few months with any luck. Until then you will still be able to use half your card's capacity!

Do not be fooled if you load more that 4gb on it, many have but you can only use the first 4gb until the OS is upgraded.

Stay tuned to this forum as when the new OS arrives, you will know about it here, first!
