How To Force / Manual Uninstall BESx 5.0.2 ??

Hi,
Apologies in advance for the longish post, but I want to give as much detail as poss.
We've had a complete nightmare over the last week with a fresh install of BESx 5.0.2 on a 2008 SBS server. Initially, all went well and we managed to activate a couple of devices and mail was flowing properly etc. Unfortunately, the users then changed their handsets and we needed to activate on the new devices. I generated a new activation email, but it never arrived in the users mailbox. I did it again - still didn't arrive. So I decided to delete the users and start from fresh with them...and this is where it all started going wrong.
The user accounts would not delete from the BESx console - just hung pending deletion for over a day, no matter what I did. I decided to grab the bull by the horns and reinstall BESx, as I'd only set up the 2 users and thought that a reinstall wouldn't take too long.
I managed to successfully uninstall and reinstall BESx, logged back into the console, and saw that the the user accounts were still there, and were still pending deletion !! I did a bit more research and found that the uninstall doesn't remove the SQL Express database...so I uninstalled again, and manually deleted the database from SQL management studio express. Another reboot and I just thought I'd check to see if there was anything left to clean up in add/remove programs...BESx was still installed - evidently in my haste I'd forgotten to remove BESx before I removed the SQL database; no problem, I'd just run the uninstaller again...
This is more or less where I still am stuck - I think that because there is no BESMgmt database, the uninstaller fails, but I can't recreate the database because the CreateDB.exe fails and says unexpected exchange type - ExchangeX. I've also checked and my local admin account doesn't have sysadmin privileges to the MSSQL$BLACKBERRY instance, so I can't do anything with it.
The only admin account for that instance is the local sa account, and I have no idea what the password is as it got created by the installer. None of the techniques involving starting the database in single user mode have worked either, as something makes a connection to it before I do and uses up the single session so I can't logon.
Basically, all I want to do is get rid of this botched BESx install and start again, I'm not bothered about preserving any info at all. My question is - how on earth do I do it if I can't get the uninstaller to run ?
Thanks
Jake
