Default On the go charger?

Please Login to Remove!

Is such thing as an on-the-go spare battery charger for the Curve? I mean something that either has separate batteries itself or can hold a large charge, and that power can be transferred to a spare BB battery on the go with no wires -- e.g. in a plane or elsewhere where there is no power source?

Thanks a lot

This may be what you're looking for. I've never used it but the FAQ's state it works for BlackBerry.

I considered this charger, but my local stores (Batteries Plus, Target, and others) didn't carry it. It's readily available online, but shipping costs are a lot compared to the price of the unit. Then I started thinking about how I'd use this charger. I'm pretty sure that the batteries will only charge the device one time and then you have to replace them. Since it has to hold 2 AA batteries, it can only be as small as the battery size. I decided instead to get a spare RIM battery for my Bold, and I'll alternate them occasionally and keep one fully charged somewhere on my person.

It's designed to provide emergency backup power and since it uses standard AA's you can get new ones just about anywhere. If you're finding yourself frequently using something like this then a spare BB battery (or something like the Seidio extended batteries) is probably is a better choice.
